Spring Willow Farm's owners,
David and Lorna Palmer, both have been involved with horses for most of
their lives. Spring Willow Farm has been their home since 1994.
David grew up in a very horsey
home. His family owned and operated a modest horse farm. As a
teen he showed his quarter horse to regional and state championships in the
western equitation and pleasure discipline. As an adult he remains very involved with the farm activities and
owns a horse for pleasure and trail riding.
Lorna has been involved with
horses since an early age. As a youth she rode and worked on a local horse farm
and was a member of 4H & US Pony Club. Over the last three decades her many interactions with horses
have ranged from competing in dressage and eventing, instructing, coaching
drillteams to breeding Andalusian horses. She began professionally teaching over
20 years ago and has worked with many students and various breeds of
horses.
David
and Lorna have four children. Two grown daughters Melora and Cloie. Melora is
married and she and her husband Dave have a son, Phillip. Cloie now lives and works in Boston. Their two younger
children Samantha and Jacob still live at Spring Willow Farm.
The
family presently owns seven horses, three ponies and one miniature donkey named
Annie. The family dogs are Savannah and Charmelita. They
have some barn kitties too.
Several
of of the family horses are school horses. David's horse Max is a loved member of
the SWF horsemanship program as is Samantha's and Jacob's ponies, Fancy and
Frannie. Lorna's horses are two Andalusian mares Nina Veirnes and Esperanza.
